WRFG 89.3 is a 24-hour radio station with a broadcasting power of 100,000 Watts. It serves as an important platform for underrepresented voices in the media, ensuring that a diverse range of community members have access.

Since its establishment in 1973, WRFG has played a vital role in Atlanta's radio landscape. As one of the first stations to feature regional musical genres like blues, bluegrass, and jazz since the 1950s, it has filled a significant gap. Demonstrating Atlanta's status as an "international city," WRFG has also pioneered programming dedicated to the Latin, African, Asian, and Caribbean communities in the area. Furthering its impact, the University of Georgia Press published a book based on this award-winning series in the autumn of 1989.
